Middle School (Years 4 – 7)
The middle years at Grace Christian School are where students widen their understanding of the world around them and build on the firm foundations laid in Junior School.
Years 4 – 7 classrooms are well equipped with computers and electronic whiteboards. Highly competent, caring Christian teachers guide and nurture the students as they grow in knowledge, character, skills and maturity.
Middle school students develop an understanding of God’s world, their place in it and Christian values such as honesty, self-control and consideration for others.
In this safe, supportive, happy and secure environment, students are encouraged to strive for personal excellence and extend their horizons.
Students in Years 4 to 7 experience a range of subjects with most instruction time under the tutelage of one teacher. Students are instructed by specialist teachers in the areas of Language Other than English (LOTE) – Indonesian, Physical Education and Science with Year 7 also receiving instruction in the Manual Arts.
In 2015, Year 7 will officially become Secondary School. Grace has put in place an arrangement where students have the opportunity to transition from Primary to Secondary class structures. Click HERE to read more about this exciting change.
Year 8 at Grace Christian School marks the beginning of Secondary education, however the students remain under the care of the Head of Middle School. This arrangement ensures the relationship and trust built up over the past four years with the Head of Middle School continues, assisting to make the transition into the Secondary curriculum as seamless as possible.
Like our Year 9 & 10 students, Year 8 students are taught by specialised staff, highly trained in their relevant fields of study. Students study all nine Learning Areas, including Bible & Christian Living; Technology & Enterprise (Computing, Food & Nutrition, Clothing Design & Fabrics, Wood Fabrication & Design, Metal Fabrication & Design).
